One caught the scent of a deer. He called the lupes, and they barked, following the leader. The leader was a snow-white lupe called Denis. He was quite old; about 49 in lupe years, 7 in human years.
"Father," Colin, one of the pack members, panted heavily. "The deer has been killed. It is ready to eat."
"Excellent," Denis smiled. "Good work, Colin."
They both made their way to the carcass, where all the other lupes were just sitting, quietly and patiently. The lupes knew that the leader was to eat first. He dove in, ate a chunk, then was full. Afterwo
